Hello there, lovely dream chasers! Welcome to my comfort zone challenge. Showing you how I pushed myself to take those first few steps into the scary world of change.

Hi, my name is Megan Seamans, I am (almost) 24 years old and I am scared of the dark. Yep. I said it.
So imagine my surprise when I found myself on the side of a mountain in the pitch black of night. And when I say pitch black, I mean I don’t think I have ever seen a dark like this. On one side of me and my boyfriend is a mountain and on the other the drop of a cliff to the roaring ocean. I had two options to stay the night there (irrational, considering we had no tent, blankets, water, food, flashlight) or walk, one step at a time. My fearful mind is not thinking of the irrational side of decision one and telling me I should stay there until we get some light.

Not comfortable, not a normal situation to find myself in.

But alas I take my first step back to the car. One step at a time.

I could hear the ocean violent slammed against the rocks 20 feet down and I still kept walking. It was such a rush! And I loved it, and there was nothing scary about the dark. It was a fun hike and left us with stories to tell.

We did run to our car when we saw it, ready for food + water and a shower! But we loved our night time hike.

If I hadn’t taken my initial steps out of my comfort zone to find the world of travel and discovery I wouldn’t have been here in the first place. And then I would have missed out on one of my favorite hikes of all time!

Yes, it was scary but I made it.

One step at a time.
