There’s this crazy buzz word out right now, ABUNDANCE. And it’s been used in a big way against money, a vulnerable topic for many.

I believe you can be abundant and create anything that you desire. I also believe that you can be responsible with your money and if you want something bad enough, you can make it happen without loading up all of the credit cards.

So how do you walk the line between money responsible and money abundant?!

Spoiler alert you can be: BOTH

I have debt.

Ooooof that feels good to get out.

I always held this weird shame around debt. OMG if anyone finds out they might not want to work with me. OMG if anyone knows this it might make me less of a life coach. OMG this weight is so heavy.

And you know why it’s so heavy… because I am carrying it all by myself.

Let’s make debt normal. [normal in like…. hey, you’re not the only one who doesn’t have all of her s*** together kind of way, but let’s fix it together]
Let’s educate ourselves on it.

Let’s stop holding shame around it.
Because holding shame… is not making it disappear.

I have debt.

You know what I love about that statement that most people miss?

I HAVE debt.
Not:
I AM debt.

I have a college degree. I am not a college degree.
I have a donut obsession. I am not a donut.
I have a car. I am not a car.

You catch my drift here?

Have you ever hid from that statement though… I have debt? Because ohhhhh god…. what if people find out I have this?!?! Has it made you feel less than because of the ring of $10k month, $20k month, $30k months?!?!

[News flash… those ladies might be hiding from debt too]

But it’s not who you are, nor does it define your worth. Have you changed the way you thought of me since reading that I have debt? Probably not. Maybe you think I’m even cooler now because of it… let’s be friends

Money is the number one comfort zone I see. Because #duh society has made it this massive taboo that we don’t talk about. People would rather talk intimate details of their relationship, what happened at their last gyno visit, and bathroom talk before they want to talk about their money situation.

Our stories have made hard lines defining what’s “good debt” and what’s “bad debt.” Our subconscious is really good at creating defining lines for us to not cross because it’s “scary” on the other side.

In my mind for example… car = good debt. Signing up for a new course…. scary, bad debt.

What about this whole abundance thing happening right now though?

You know… if I don’t want to invest $20,000 I’m not abundant enough to see that money can flow from anywhere?!

There’s the line… money abundant and money responsible.

What’s the difference?

Money responsible is knowing where your money is going at all times. It’s not saying that you can’t have what you want, but it’s knowing when it’s the smart time for what you want.
Money abundant is knowing there is more than enough for all of us, you can create more money when you want it.

You see… buying something that is $20,000 when you already have $30,000 in debt and are only making $5,000 a month and no extra hours to spare is going to light up this massive resistance in you. You will constantly be walking a line of, “if I don’t make this much this month, then I won’t be able to pay this much on my bills.” Then you will start screaming at your passion to make you money. And like Elizabeth Gilbert says…

“But to yell at your creativity, saying, “You must earn money for me!” is sort of like yelling at a cat; it has no idea what you’re talking about, and all you’re doing is scaring it away, because you’re making really loud noises and your face looks weird when you do that.”

The universe will match what you put out to it.

BUT you cannot magically make $20,000 appear tonight.
Manifesting takes action too.

In the instant gratification world that we live in, money abundance makes it seem like all of our dreams [with financial freedom on top] can be achieved only if you want it bad enough right now.

Abundance isn’t changing you or acquiring more, it’s about being present and appreciating now, all that you have right here, right now.

If you set your vibration to what you have now and go towards what you desire, it will be matched. You attract what you give attention focus and energy to. You CAN create whatever you want. But to create more debt without an action plan… is not the way to create it. Abundance is in all areas of your life; not just money, you have to believe abundance in all.

If you put constant, blaring pressure on what you desire you will create less of it.

Money is a piece of paper with a promise. There is more than enough for everyone. The Mint is not going to print new money for you when make it, you simply bring it in.

So… feeling abundant, a little bit woo, but want something that makes your stomach turn thinking about opening up another credit card? What do you do…

1 Reverse Engineer It!

What do you want? What will it take to get there? It’s easy to look at what it is we want and tap out and say… “nope, can’t afford that.” But, there’s where you lose your abundance. Big numbers look big upfront because, well… they are, but when you break them down they get a little smaller… weird right?!

You know how much it costs > You know how much you make.

What monthly payments will get you paying it off, what extra do you need to bring in?

2 Look for your extra income flow

You’re looking linear right now. “I have this job, it is bringing me in this money.” There is always more. Where can you do an extra side gig, what can you sell, how can you get more clients in your “side” business [that’s actually, really a life long dream biz], how can you pick up extra hours, ask for that raise you deserve… the list goes one.

3 Know that debt with a plan isn’t bad debt!!!!

Debt. Is. Not. BAD. ESPECIALLY when it is an investment into the one and only Y O U. When you are mindlessly spending with your credit score in la la land… that’s when you miss the money responsibility line. [It’s okay… they forgot to teach us that lesson in adult-ing 101]

If you want something and you KNOW with your full confidence in mind that you can make MORE happen. Create a plan, go back to that reverse engineering and do it. No excuses.

4 Look at your expenses

It’s crazy the amount of little charges that can go unnoticed on your credit card statement. Gym you haven’t been to in 12 months, Netflix, Hulu, HBO go, Amazon Prime, Starbucks x5, cable, going out to eat (like a lot), the aisles of Target… especially that dollar section, they get you good. Check out where your money is going. Remember when we reverse engineered the BIG number into small numbers. Well it takes small numbers to get to big numbers, can’t have $10,000 without having $10. So even though your $5 drink doesn’t seem like it’s making a dent in the budget $5×5[days] = $25×4[weeks] = $100 a month.

Don’t think I forgot about you COMFORT ZONE…

Your money comfort zone is a BIG one though! It has one loud and proud megaphone, ready to knock down the confidence you have in a decision. It’s okay to want something big, you should go after everything you have ever desired. You should own your power, step into your confidence and hold space for massive abundance every day.

What about that money comfort zone that you have, what do you do with that?

Same thing you do with every other comfort zone…

Reframe it: I have debt, I am not debt, my debt does not define who I am or what I do. I am working through an action plan to pay it off.

Change your phrases from “I’m just getting by.” “I’m living paycheck to paycheck.” “I’m broke.” Into, “I am creating the life I desire.” “I am SO grateful to receive a paycheck.” “I am a money magnet”

Action steps: create a plan to pay it off. I’ll attract all the abundance in the world. I love money and money loves me. But without a plan, my abundant little self will max out all of the cards.

Move on: keep living your life the way you want to live it. I promise you, you won’t be on your death bed saying… I am so mad at myself for being in debt that one time. You’ll remember and be obsessed with the experiences.

Go after what you want, create what you desire, show gratitude for what you have, and step out of your comfort zone to live in bliss.
